Digital Media Manager

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Ideate, schedule and execute creative social and interactive ideas that reflect McLean Bible Church's identity and activities to increase reach and engagement
• Co-lead the creation of graphic design and video content for social media alongside Communications team colleagues
• Develop captions and written content that compel viewers to engage
• Collaborate with teams across the organization to plan, implement and assess digital initiatives
• Contribute to digital strategy discussions to develop the best approaches for reaching both the church family and the greater public for Christ
• Oversee process for collecting, storing, editing, and publishing stories, photos and videos
• Schedule and post content to platforms including Instagram, YouTube, Spotify, iTunes, and others
• Participate in active social listening and engage thoughtfully with the online community
• Track and present analytics, leveraging data for future campaigns
• Innovate and experiment with emerging online engagement opportunities
• Manage sermon archive on social and web platforms
• Assist with developing email templates and provide copywriting/editing services for email campaigns
• Manage content on mcleanbible.org, ensuring accuracy and optimal user experience
• Build and lead a volunteer team of social media contributors across five locations
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in digital content creation/management or similar role
• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
• Prior church experience is a plus
• A growing Christian faith and commitment to following Jesus with spiritual maturity
• Enthusiastic, positive, team-oriented spirit
• Strong storytelling ability and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently, lead projects, and collaborate effectively
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Knowledge of social media best practices and trends
• Experience with social media strategy execution and web content management
• Understanding of design, copywriting/editing, and web best practices
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, WordPress or similar CMS, Microsoft Office 365
• Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, YouTube, Spotify, iTunes, X, TikTok)
• Experience with social management tools (e.g., Later, Buffer, Sprout) is a plus
• Photography, videography, and video editing skills are preferred
• Ability to lift and carry items weighing 25 pounds or more for short distances

Qualifications
