The role of the Director, Consultant Relations involves building strategic partnerships with benefits consultants, managing partner relationships, executing marketing and sales strategies, and aligning partnership initiatives with company goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic partnerships with key benefits consultants and maintain strong relationships, serving as the main contact for partnership-related matters.
  • Educate consultants on Journey's products and capabilities while understanding their and their clients' needs.
  • Serve as the liaison between internal teams and external consultants to foster strong partnerships, smooth collaboration, and aligned deliverables.
  • Manage consultant deals, collaborate with the Sales Director, and lead RFP process for consultant-led opportunities.
  • Track partnership performance, provide leadership insights, and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Design and execute outreach and nurture strategies to consultants in partnership with the internal marketing team.
  • Collaborate with product and marketing teams to align partnership initiatives with company goals.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and represent Journey at relevant events to build and expand partnerships.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience working with consultants, brokers, and partners (e.g., WTW, Mercer, Gallagher, Aon, Lockton, Alliant) in a similar capacity at a health and wellness company.
  • Experience working in an early-stage (< 25 employees) startup environment.
  • Consistent over-achievement in quota and revenue goals.
  • Self-starter who thrives with autonomy and relentlessly pursues goals.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to excel at multi-tasking and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Comfort with critical thinking and problem-solving.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to industry trends.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with benefits consultants and brokers.
  • Previous success in building and optimizing business relationships in the health and wellness industry.

Qualifications

  • 8 years of experience working with consultants, brokers, and partners in a health and wellness context.
  • Experience in early-stage startups with fewer than 25 employees.
  • Proven track record of exceeding quota and revenue targets.
