About the Role

The Director of Data Center Vertical Strategy at Xylem is responsible for driving growth in the data center end market by collaborating with enterprise strategy, segment marketing, sales, and product teams. The role involves translating enterprise-wide strategy into actionable growth plans, identifying focus areas, executing demand and lead generation strategies, supporting customer retention, building relationships with sales and industry groups, and developing ideas for inorganic growth. The position requires influencing global executives and engaging cross-functional teams to deliver aligned customer outcomes within a sustainable water solutions company dedicated to addressing critical water challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for coordinating the actionable growth plan for the high-growth data center market, aligning divisions and supporting functions with strategic actions.
  • Identify key development areas including technologies, solutions, and business models to inform organic and inorganic opportunities, and analyze market insights to deliver actionable strategies.
  • Bridge and lead Data Center initiatives across divisions, working closely with the strategy team and divisions to ensure alignment.
  • Ensure the execution of a comprehensive enterprise growth plan aligned with business objectives by collaborating with segment marketing, sales, and product teams.
  • Develop and manage the Data Center P&L, ensuring accountability and performance delivery across segments.
  • Build and maintain relationships with sales teams, strategic accounts, and industry groups to support customer retention and market engagement.
  • Influence global executives at segment and divisional levels and engage cross-functional teams for aligned outcomes.
  • Leverage market insights and technology roadmaps to inform strategies and actions.
  • Implement educational strategies for sales and stakeholders to expand knowledge.
  • Establish measurement and performance frameworks to track and make performance highly visible across the enterprise.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies and initiatives specific to the data center vertical.
  • Use market insights to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive advantages to grow current and potential markets.
  • Gather and provide segment intelligence to leadership and engage with industry associations as a thought leader.
  • Define the path to profitable growth within the vertical, including geographic expansion and sub-vertical development, supporting regional revenue and margin goals.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and sales teams to identify enterprise accounts, gather VOC for new solutions, and explore routes to market.

Requirements

  • +10 years relevant working experience including leading and/or influencing teams.
  • Knowledge of Data Center industry, applications, and technology is preferred.
  • BA/BS and Master's degree in Business, Marketing, or Engineering.
