About the Role

The Director of Downstream Marketing at Stryker is responsible for managing marketing strategies across multiple brands outside of Total Ankle Replacement. The role involves developing commercial strategies, competitive analysis, customer insights, brand stewardship, and leading various marketing and sales initiatives to drive business growth and market share. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple brands, working with multifactor pricing strategies for Hospitals, HOPCO, and ASCs, collaborating with multiple business units to execute commercial strategies.
  • Consult on competitive analyses in the global arena, leading discussions on competitors' strengths and weaknesses, and evaluating analysis tools and technologies.
  • Build and expand a network of Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to achieve business needs and synthesize customer needs to inform future innovations.
  • Shape customer value propositions aligned with business strategies and promote a customer-focused corporate culture.
  • Lead strategic planning and marketing plan development, coaching teams on creating well-written marketing strategies.
  • Evaluate marketing impact on P&L, complete analyses, and discuss budgeting strategies to ensure financial adherence.
  • Coach teams on segmentation, customer targeting, and measurement of target audience preferences and brand associations.
  • Guide teams in developing fact-based, competitive value propositions and align strategy and execution accordingly.
  • Drive brand stewardship by establishing long-term vision for product or portfolio brands and guiding future competencies.
  • Mentor teams on evidence generation linked to value propositions and lead efforts to generate customer insights.
  • Lead product or portfolio marketing objectives, linking goals to company-wide strategy and adjusting efforts based on market conditions.
  • Develop and communicate strategic plans for source volume and strategic focus, anticipating market and competitive impacts.
  • Advocate for new sales channel technologies, develop multi-channel sales strategies, and manage communication among sales, marketing, and other departments.
  • Consult on technical marketing strategies, develop training programs, and lead sales enablement initiatives.
  • Participate in supply chain strategy discussions, champion pricing strategies aligned with organizational goals, and establish best practices for marketing channels.
  • Develop mechanisms for effectiveness measurement, monitor customer satisfaction, and incorporate insights into business strategies.
  • Lead business analytics efforts, promote advanced analytics use, and mentor others in performance reporting.
  • Manage a team of professionals, develop employees, serve as a project representative, and foster collaboration across divisions.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of work experience, with at least 7+ years in medical device and marketing/sales preferred.
  • 4+ years of people management experience highly preferred.
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Persuasive communication skills in the absence of organizational authority.
  • Understanding of complex interdivisional procedures and policies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
