Director, Event Marketing

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end planning and execution of Southern Living's marquee events, from venue selection and budgeting to vendor negotiations and onsite management.
• Serve as the primary liaison for all event talent, overseeing communications, contracts, and logistics.
• Identify, source, and manage external partners and vendors (e.g., catering, A/V, production, merchandise).
• Develop contingency plans to handle onsite emergencies and last-minute changes smoothly.
• Provide event marketing support across Real Simple, Better Homes & Gardens, and other lifestyle brands as needed.
• Travel and maintain onsite presence for major events to ensure flawless execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Marketing, or a related field.
• 7-10 years of event marketing experience, ideally with large-scale consumer events.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong multitasking abilities with a proven capacity to manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Calm under pressure with a solution-oriented mindset.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
