About the Role

The Director, Marketing at Stryker is responsible for leading the marketing strategy and direction for products and services within the organization. This role involves overseeing market research, developing marketing plans, managing brand performance, and coordinating sales and marketing activities to maximize sales and customer engagement. Key Responsibilities

  • Directs marketing direction for products and services using customer marketing databases.
  • Creates direct mail marketing plans targeting specific market segments with specialized offers.
  • Collaborates with market research to develop response models and improve databases.
  • Conducts data mining analyses of customer data to identify marketing trends.
  • Coordinates market plans and launch programs to create demand and maximize sales.
  • Evaluates brand performance and oversees development and production of marketing materials.
  • Provides leadership to the sales force by coordinating advertising, public relations, and product strategy implementation.
  • Recommends product development and enhancements based on brand performance and customer feedback.
  • Leads competitive and customer insights analyses to inform strategic decisions.
  • Builds and maintains a network of Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to achieve business needs.
  • Shapes customer value propositions aligned with business strategies and promotes a customer-focused culture.
  • Leads strategic planning efforts for product and portfolio development, including budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Guides segmentation, targeting, and positioning strategies to optimize market share.
  • Drives brand stewardship and long-term vision for product or portfolio brands.
  • Develops and implements marketing objectives linked to company-wide strategies.
  • Leads sales distribution channel strategies and advocates for new technologies and tools.
  • Designs and manages sales enablement and training programs.
  • Consults on forecasting methods and participates in supply chain strategy discussions.
  • Ensures pricing strategies align with organizational goals and market conditions.
  • Establishes best practices for marketing channels and measures marketing effectiveness.
  • Monitors customer satisfaction and incorporates insights into business strategies.
  • Leads business analytics initiatives to support decision-making and risk evaluation.
  • Manages a team of professionals, fostering development and ensuring performance standards.
  • Serves as a representative for enterprise projects and transformation initiatives, promoting organizational change.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of work experience, including 7+ years in medical device marketing or sales.
  • 4+ years of people management experience highly preferred.
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Persuasive communication skills in organizational settings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to understand and work within complex interdivisional procedures and policies.
  • Physical and mental capacity to perform medium work, including exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage time, and handle stress effectively.
  • High level of ethics and integrity.

  • Experience with data mining and advanced analytics.
  • Knowledge of pricing strategies and market intelligence tools.
  • Experience in developing and implementing multi-channel sales strategies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience.
  • 7+ years in medical device marketing or sales (preferred).
  • 4+ years of management experience (preferred).
