About the Role

The Director, Marketing and Fan Engagement is responsible for all aspects related to the marketing and game day experience for fans attending Marquette athletics events. The role involves enhancing fan enthusiasm, managing marketing efforts for sports programs, supervising student employees, coordinating promotional activities, and implementing marketing strategies across various channels. The position supports the department's goal to increase awareness and engagement with Marquette athletics, aligning with the university's mission and values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and execute game production efforts for women's basketball and women's volleyball including creating game scripts, music/band promotions, videoboard content, cheer/mascot, and on-court presentations.
  • Enhance enthusiasm for the department and awareness of all sports programs at Marquette University.
  • Supervise student employees for the marketing department.
  • Work with Associate AD of Marketing and Sales to develop ads for external and internal publications on campus and in the community.
  • Assist with creation of design elements, including print collateral, social media graphics, and other design pieces for the department.
  • Staff special promotions events both on and off campus to support community outreach initiatives.
  • Coordinate on-campus activation methods to promote upcoming games and increase exposure of Marquette Athletics.
  • Implement effective marketing of promotions and events via all channels and media, such as GoMarquette.com, social media, print, electronic media, and the Marquette Gameday app.
  • Manage athletics e-blasts, including newsletters, ticket promotions, week-of emails, and game day text alerts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, e.g., Marketing.
  • Work experience in college marketing.
  • Strong background and knowledge of relevant market analysis and promotional strategies.

Nice to Have

  • 2-3 years minimum work experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools.
  • Familiarity with Ticketmaster and Archtics Department.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Marketing or related degree.
  • Senior level experience preferred.
