About the Role

The Director Medicaid Plan Marketing is responsible for the planning and direction of specific marketing strategies for a single functional marketing area within Elevance Health. This role involves coordinating Medicaid growth and engagement initiatives, developing community relations strategies, driving member retention and loyalty programs, and collaborating across the organization to foster growth and innovation. The position requires in-office presence three days per week, with a flexible work environment that promotes collaboration and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and direct efforts of Medicaid growth and engagement initiatives.
  • Ensure marketing plans within the region meet state contractual requirements.
  • Develop and implement individual health plan Community Relations Strategy.
  • Create value-added benefits to improve quality outcomes, including member selection and engagement approaches.
  • Drive member retention and loyalty programs.
  • Develop key partnerships to drive innovation and growth.
  • Collaborate with all Elevance Health businesses in Texas to drive growth.
  • Audit website and vendor relationships, providing oversight and performance management.
  • Research and evaluate competitive activity.
  • Implement tracking mechanisms for daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly activities and productivity.
  • Develop and conduct staff training methods.
  • Make recommendations for product modifications or improvements based on market research and feedback.
  • Develop and recommend department operating budgets.
  • Secure approval of objectives, policies, and programs for marketing activities and evaluate results.
  • Identify appropriate media opportunities in partnership with brand management.
  • Prepare presentations regarding marketing and outreach programs for senior management.
  • Hire, train, coach, counsel, and evaluate the performance of direct reports.

Requirements

  • Requires a BA/BS degree and a minimum of 8 years of related experience including prior leadership experience.
  • Or any combination of education and experience providing an equivalent background.
  • Experience working with the Texas Medicaid population, including STAR, CHIP, STAR+PLUS, STAR Kids, ACA, and D-SNP (preferred).
  • Managed Care Health Plan experience (preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills (preferred).
  • Project management certification (preferred).
  • Strong PC skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) (preferred).

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree (preferred).

Qualifications

  • Educational background includes a BA/BS degree; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience with leadership roles.
