Job Description

About the Role

The Director of Business Development is responsible for managing the Specialist and Business Development Managers to help generate and assist with product sales by providing customers and potential customers with value-added services, exceptional customer service, and attention to customer profitability. The role involves analyzing work-related situations, making effective decisions, and staying knowledgeable of product information, industry trends, and related technology. The position functions as a team member within the department and organization, performing any duties assigned to best serve the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise Specialists and BDMs in training, coaching, performance management, and problem resolution.
  • Attain targeted profit margins as determined by business goals.
  • Increase sales growth with acceptable levels of gross margins as determined by business goals.
  • Increase market share for products and services.
  • Demonstrate awareness of customer needs and establish processes and procedures to effectively meet those needs.
  • Meet financial sales goals.
  • Increase business through account penetration and customer prospecting efforts.
  • Ensure customers receive orders timely and accurately.
  • Implement efficient sales processes and procedures to meet customers' demands.
  • Implement sales plans that recognize customer profitability issues.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience.
  • 4 - 6 Years experience in Sales / Marketing or related area within foodservice industry.

Nice to Have

  • Bachelors Degree in Sales / Marketing or related area.
  • 6 - 10 Years experience in Sales / Marketing or related area within foodservice industry.

Qualifications

  • Preferred: Bachelors Degree in Sales / Marketing or related area.
