About the Role

As Director of Business Development - Facilities, you will have an opportunity to lead new business pursuits with Higher Education prospect clients, and work closely with our Sales and the Facilities Leadership Teams in developing overall sales strategies within Aramark's Facilities Service offerings. These include custodial, grounds and landscaping, and operations and maintenance services. The role involves driving sales process leadership, creating and developing relationships with prospects and clients, researching and targeting potential clients, developing sales and marketing strategies, and representing Aramark Facilities Services in the marketplace. The position emphasizes strategic planning, client relationship management, and industry representation to grow the company's presence in the higher education sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive sales process leadership from prospecting contact through strategy, proposal, presentation and successful closure of Integrated Facilities Services project and annuity-based agreements within a defined territory.
  • Create and develop relationships with/sell to Higher Education prospects/clients.
  • Research, identify, qualify, and target potential clients and develop access strategies to client introductions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key prospect/client personas while understanding and communicating prospective customers' campus culture.
  • Exercise creativity and judgment in developing and evaluating sales and marketing strategies in selling Facilities Services.
  • Develop and lead strategic processes with regard to: Competitive Environment, Account Sales Strategy and Development Strategy.
  • Identify needs and develop customer-specific solutions for those needs.
  • Utilize resources from across Aramark to design and deliver customer desired outcomes.
  • Influence and develop team members without formal authority.
  • Develop relationships with intermediaries to build pipeline of opportunities and awareness of capabilities.
  • Represent Aramark Facilities Services at industry organizations and events.
  • Build relationships personally with prospective customers.
  • Provide market and competitive information.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree is required; MBA is favorable.
  • At least 5 years of solution-based selling experience.
  • Knowledge of CRM systems, preferably Salesforce.
  • Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Effective use of influence strategies without formal authority.
  • Flexibility to travel 50-70%, including overnight.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, presentation skills, and proposal development skills.
  • Solid understanding of custodial and maintenance services and their application in decision-making.
  • Knowledge of Higher Education sales is highly preferred.
  • Ability to discover and respond to changing client needs with targeted solutions.
  • Understanding of Strategic Consultative Selling.
  • Experience in building alliances and influencing decision makers at all levels.
  • Knowledge of strategic sales planning and methodologies.
  • Strong research skills for market awareness.
  • Financial and technical acumen for developing proposals and responding to RFPs.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Experience in developing and executing sales processes through influence.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of Higher Education sales highly preferred.
  • Experience with CRM systems, especially Salesforce.
  • MBA degree.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree required.
  • At least 5 years of solution-based selling experience.
