About the Role

The Director of Donor Engagement & Marketing is responsible for implementing a comprehensive donor engagement and fundraising program, as well as overseeing the overall marketing and communication strategy for Cerebral Palsy Inc. The role involves developing and executing strategic plans to increase and diversify philanthropic funding from various sources, ensuring consistent messaging aligned with branding and developmental efforts, and leading a team to achieve organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the team (Annual Giving Coordinator / Major Gifts Coordinator / Marketing Specialist) in gift cultivation, solicitation, and fundraising efforts including annual appeals, corporate support, major and planned giving, endowed giving, special events, and campaigns, with a goal to exceed $1.5 million in annual unrestricted fundraising.
  • Promote involvement of businesses, organizations, and individuals to support the agency and its events.
  • Manage all facets of donor relationships and engagement, developing strategies for donor growth, education, renewal, and retention.
  • Compile, maintain, and report on giving statistics, analyze donation trends, and develop strategies to meet fundraising goals.
  • Manage grant research and writing processes, including research on foundations and trusts.
  • Ensure prompt and accurate gift processing, acknowledgment, donor recognition, and collection of unpaid commitments.
  • Oversee donor CRM software, including data updates, best practices, financial reconciliation, and annual software evaluation.
  • Plan and coordinate the Telethon weekend, including soliciting sponsors, coordinating VIPs, and engaging third-party organizations.
  • Oversee operations for all sponsored events, including managing committees, budgets, and vendor relationships.
  • Lead the marketing and communications team to develop and execute strategic plans, coordinate media relations, and oversee content for website and social media.
  • Create outreach strategies to increase public awareness and organizational growth.
  • Manage external communications such as press releases, advertising, and public relations activities.
  • Supervise and oversee staff members, develop departmental plans and budgets, monitor progress, and evaluate performance.
  • Participate as an active member of the Executive and Leadership Teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Three to five years of demonstrated experience in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Fundraising, Business, or event planning.
  • Proficient skills in MS Office, Outlook, Publisher, Adobe Creative Suite, and Donor CRM software.
  • Proven ability to deepen current donor relationships and forge new ones.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience with public speaking and presentations.
  • Ability to work independently with sound judgment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to multitask.
  • Successful completion of background check and drug screen.

  • Experience with grant research and writing.
  • Experience with digital signage and external speaking arrangements.
  • Experience in designing or coordinating marketing materials.

Qualifications
