About the Role

The Director of Enrollment Marketing at American University is responsible for leading the strategy, execution, and optimization of marketing efforts that drive interest, applications, and enrollments for undergraduate admissions. Reporting to the Executive Director for Enrollment Marketing and Communications, this role involves building integrated, data-driven campaigns to position the AU brand, amplify its value proposition, and meet recruitment goals. The position oversees content creation and collaborates with various university departments to ensure alignment with branding and strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops multichannel marketing campaigns and communication content aimed at generating undergraduate applications and enrollments.
  • Creates and executes content for recruitment publications, presentations, outbound mass email communications, social media channels, and video production.
  • Oversees the undergraduate admissions and financial aid websites and related digital platforms to ensure content accuracy, engagement, and brand consistency.
  • Creates and maintains a system to track campaign timelines and progress, providing updates to the Executive Director.
  • Conducts analysis of relevant KPIs to evaluate campaign efficacy and proposes strategic adjustments.
  • Ensures compliance with visual identity, style, and communication standards in collaboration with university branding guidelines.
  • Serves on cross-functional committees related to university web presence and communications.
  • Assists in on-campus recruitment events and other related assignments.
  • Supervises the Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • 8-10 years of relevant experience in student recruitment or a demand-generation environment.
  • Expertise in digital marketing channels and funnel optimization.
  • Proficiency with marketing analytics tools, CRM/marketing automation platforms (specifically Salesforce CRM and Marketing Cloud), and basic HTML/CSS principles.
  • Strong project-management skills and ability to manage multiple initiatives under tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and storytelling abilities.

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree or equivalent.
  • 10 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.
  • 8-10 years of relevant experience in student recruitment or demand-generation.
  • Experience with digital marketing channels, analytics tools, and CRM platforms.
