Director of Foundation Development & Marketing

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall direction for the hospital foundation, including identifying, cultivating, and soliciting donors from individuals, corporations, and community organizations.
• Develop and manage donor stewardship and recognition programs.
• Partner with the Foundation Board to advance fundraising strategies.
• Serve as the hospital's lead marketer, responsible for written communications such as newsletters, press releases, social media content, website updates, and internal communications.
• Develop strategies to increase hospital visibility in the community.
• Lead planning and execution of hospital and foundation events, including securing sponsorships, managing logistics, and promoting events.
• Oversee support staff and volunteers during events.
• Manage thrift store operations, staff, and volunteers, ensuring financial accountability and developing promotions to increase community engagement and sales.
• Supervise and mentor the Marketing Outreach Coordinator.
• Direct creative and design support for events, campaigns, and communications.
• Provide leadership to staff and volunteers in all foundation activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, business, communication, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, development, marketing, or grant writing.
• Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to produce professional communications.
• Proven track record in donor cultivation and event planning.
• Leadership or supervisory experience.

Nice to Have

• Master's degree or CFRE certification.
• Healthcare or nonprofit foundation experience.
• Retail or thrift store management and development experience.
