About the Role

The Director of Marketing directs the development, production, and implementation of all marketing strategies and related projects associated with the property's revenue and marketing objectives. This role partners with senior leadership to develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans that align with hotel goals, oversee internal and external communications, and lead a team of marketing professionals to maximize revenue and brand presence within the luxury hospitality environment of The Ritz-Carlton, part of Marriott International.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops overarching marketing strategy including marketing plans and property email strategy to align with business priorities in consultation with General Managers.
  • Oversees execution of all marketing initiatives, projects, and collateral production to ensure sales and marketing objectives are achieved and revenue opportunities are maximized.
  • Cultivates partnership and active participation in demand generation strategy development.
  • Reconciles marketing plan monthly with accruals and forecasts in conjunction with the Director of Finance.
  • Leads repositioning efforts in partnership with Area Team, GM, and hotel executive team.
  • Serves as the hotel(s) brand guardian, verifying all marketing reflects brand voice and leads strategic promotions and campaigns.
  • Partners with Revenue Management to develop and execute promotional strategies.
  • Supports group lead generation efforts.
  • Runs, reviews, and analyzes key marketing reports, communicating findings to stakeholders and adjusting strategies accordingly.
  • Manages internal and external partners to ensure deliverables support hotel strategy.
  • Develops and manages the digital marketing plan, partnership strategies, and OTA strategy in collaboration with Revenue Management.
  • Monitors and provides recommendations for SEO and content updates.
  • Maintains active engagement with Area Directors of Marketing to communicate recommendations and digital trends.
  • Sets public relations strategy, manages PR agency or messaging, and measures campaign success.
  • Manages direct reports, including hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.

Requirements

  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Sales, or related major, with 2 years' experience in Hospitality Sales, Spa Sales, or a comparable area, OR
  • 4-year bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, or related major, with 1 year experience in Hospitality Sales, Spa Sales, or a comparable area.
  • Experience developing and executing marketing strategies in a hospitality or luxury brand environment.
  • Ability to analyze marketing performance reports and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Strong partnership, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Leadership experience managing marketing teams and external partners.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with digital marketing tools and SEO strategies.
  • Experience managing OTA and digital content development.
  • Familiarity with public relations and media management.

Qualifications

  • Educational background as specified in requirements.
  • Experience in hospitality sales, marketing, or related fields.
