About the Role

The Director of Marketing is a strategic leader and team builder who drives Move For Hunger's multi-channel marketing efforts to grow the brand, strengthen donor and partner engagement, and maximize digital performance. This role involves leading a high-performing team in a remote environment, overseeing integrated marketing strategy, campaign planning, and cross-departmental collaboration to support fundraising, partnership, and program goals. The organization is a national nonprofit dedicated to mobilizing transportation networks to deliver excess food to communities in need, with a culture of diversity, passion, growth, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a cohesive, multi-channel marketing strategy that aligns with organizational goals and engages target audiences.
  • Translate mission objectives into actionable marketing plans with clear priorities, timelines, and accountability across team roles.
  • Ensure brand consistency across platforms and materials, serving as the lead steward of Move For Hunger's voice, messaging, and visual identity.
  • Provide regular campaign and channel performance reports to leadership; use insights to guide strategy and hit key objectives.
  • Manage a high-performing remote marketing team, setting direction, supporting professional development, and promoting a culture of creativity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage team workflow using project planning tools and regular check-ins to ensure timely and high-quality execution of campaigns and content.
  • Oversee external vendors, freelancers, and interns, ensuring integration with internal plans and brand standards.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to Development and Program leads, integrating marketing efforts into fundraising, donor engagement, and partner activation.
  • Guide the marketing team in executing campaigns across email, social media, web, and digital advertising—ensuring content and creative alignment with audience goals and organizational priorities.
  • Supervise the implementation and optimization of email strategy through Pardot, led by the Digital Marketing Strategist; support roadmap development, segmentation, and performance reporting.
  • Oversee content development for all channels, leading the MARCOMM team to align messaging, creative, and cadence.
  • Lead digital campaign strategy, including paid social, Google Ad Grants, SEO/SEM, and leveraging AI tools to optimize targeting and content.
  • Use campaign data to evaluate team performance, inform content testing, and optimize engagement and conversion across channels.

Requirements

  • Are a strong, supportive leader who empowers your team to do their best work and grow their expertise.
  • Thrive in project management and are skilled at building systems that support collaboration, execution, and measurement.
  • Understand how to align brand, content, and digital tools to drive mission impact.
  • Know how to balance structure with creative freedom—and foster both in your team.
  • Are experienced in multi-channel marketing, with strategic fluency in tools like Pardot, Salesforce, Google Analytics, and social platforms.
  • Are energized by social impact work and want to expand the influence and reach of a purpose-driven brand.
  • Have 5+ years in a marketing leadership role, preferably in a mission-driven organization.
  • Have proven experience managing marketing teams, creative workflows, and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Possess hands-on knowledge of Pardot (or comparable marketing automation platform), including audience segmentation, nurture flows, and reporting.
  • Have experience using Salesforce for lead/donor management and performance tracking.
  • Are highly proficient in managing paid digital strategies, SEO/SEM, and analytics tools like GA4.
  • Have exceptional organizational, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
