Job Description

About the Role

The Director of Marketing (DOM) is responsible for the effective promotion and communication of BSC's core mission and programming. This role involves implementing all marketing initiatives and activities, including brand strategy, messaging, advertising, web, social media, collateral materials, group sales, and public relations to meet institutional and ticket sales goals. The DOM collaborates with other department heads, translating internal marketing needs into strong and consistent messages. The position reports to the Managing Director and is part of the senior leadership team of BSC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, design, and implement all marketing activities for BSC, including pass sales and single ticket campaigns to build upon BSC's current pass holders and ticket buyer base.
  • Project revenue and expenses, monitor and efficiently allocate the marketing budget, making judgments about resource allocation to achieve sales goals.
  • Hire, supervise, and motivate a team of marketing and communications individuals and agencies, ensuring their continuous development.
  • Evaluate and revise BSC's marketing and outreach strategies to remain strategically opportunistic.
  • Execute BSC's outreach strategy to create, build, and reach new audiences.
  • Promote BSC's work on a local and national level.
  • Design, implement, and oversee group sales and telemarketing campaigns, including lead generation, direct marketing promotions, market research, and goal setting.
  • Supervise the implementation of all web, electronic, and print projects, providing creative direction and final approval.
  • Provide creative direction for all marketing collateral and advertising campaigns.
  • Develop and implement marketing, promotional, and grassroots strategies to enhance awareness and achieve sales goals.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, especially Artistic, Development, and Education, to maximize content creation and campaign input.
  • Oversee box office policies and procedures.
