About the Role

The Director of Marketing at Horseshoe Bossier is responsible for developing and managing strategic and annual business plans for Marketing and Player Development. The role involves overseeing implementation to achieve revenue and profit goals, ensuring performance standards in customer service, operating procedures, compliance, and budget management. The position requires leading a team, building relationships with high-end customers, and coordinating marketing activities to maximize casino visitation and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepares annual business plans that identify revenue potential by key market segments and describes casino marketing programs, player development activities, junkets, and special events to attain revenue goals.
  • Controls expenses to achieve acceptable return on invested expenses and complimentary services.
  • Identifies strengths, opportunities, and threats to achieving the plan, and makes adjustments accordingly.
  • Hires, manages, and develops staff for Marketing, Player Development, Junket Programs, and Casino Hosts.
  • Develops personal relationships with premium players and manages staff to do the same, across domestic markets and sister properties.
  • Works closely with hotel yield team to ensure VIP segments are properly yielded to promote hotel visitation.
  • Collaborates with Special Events and Direct Mail teams to maximize VIP visitation.
  • Develops and maintains a customer database for premium players and coordinates programs with marketing systems.
  • Analyzes customer data and financial results to determine effective promotions and maintain financial margins.
  • Monitors competitive promotions and events to ensure market competitiveness.
  • Delegates tasks appropriately, conducts performance reviews, and handles employee development, discipline, and grievances.
  • Ensures legal compliance with federal, state, and gaming laws.
  • Responds calmly in crisis situations involving customers or employees and maintains a safe environment.

Requirements

  • College degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field preferred.
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years' experience in the gaming industry.
  • Three (3) years managerial or supervisory experience in Marketing or Player Development for a casino with significant revenue from destination or high-frequency markets.
  • Proven track record in growing and increasing profitability of high-end customers.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially in resolving customer complaints.
  • Ability to manage multiple objectives and priorities simultaneously.
  • Leadership skills to guide and motivate a team of Casino Hosts.
  • Ability to work any day of the week and any shift.
  • Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues and present a well-groomed appearance.
  • Ability to work in a smoke-filled environment and maneuver around the casino and hotel areas.
  • Calm and effective response in crisis and demanding situations.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working closely with hotel yield teams and special events teams.
  • Experience developing customer databases and marketing programs.
