About the Role

The Director of Solution Marketing will lead a team within the Product Marketing team of our Marketing department, focusing on developing and optimizing data-driven growth strategies for athenaOne solutions in high-potential markets. This highly visible role is pivotal in realizing athenahealth's specialty market development objectives, creating sustainable growth through strategic marketing initiatives. The Director will act as a strategic leader, overseeing solution growth activities, targeting audience-centric messaging, and driving the creation of impactful collateral. The role reports to the Vice President of Portfolio Marketing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the marketing aspects of the commercial launch of new solutions, collaborating closely with Product Management & Strategy, Marketing, Sales, and our Customer organization to maximize awareness, consideration, acquisition, and retention.
  • Craft and maintain effective positioning and value messaging, informed by an understanding of target audiences and their pain points, that clearly articulates the value we deliver to our customers.
  • Create and update content and collateral to support our value messaging and positioning, including pitch decks, support slides, case studies, customer vignettes, and video testimonials.
  • Support the enablement of commercial teams with knowledge transfer, content, and programs that enhance their understanding of the specialty markets, solutions, and value messaging.
  • Empower commercial teams to understand and leverage our messaging and content, actively engaging with them to test and refine prospect-facing messaging.
  • Collaborate with corporate and product strategy to analyze market trends, customer feedback, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for product enhancements and market expansion.
  • Drive competitive intelligence efforts, conducting thorough analysis of competitors' products, strategies, and market positioning to inform product differentiation and go-to-market strategies.
  • Develop and deploy growth marketing performance and efficiency metrics to continuously diagnose, refine and optimize growth strategies.
  • Foster a culture of experimentation and innovation within the solution marketing team, leading our use of A/B testing and other methodologies to optimize marketing outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of professional experience in growth marketing and/or product marketing, with prior experience leading the launch and growth of a multi-product portfolio.
  • Deep domain knowledge of the US healthcare and healthcare IT industry, inclusive of Ambulatory EHR and RCM markets.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with expertise in creating content for prospect communications, including website content, datasheets, customer stories, and promotional collateral.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple high-profile projects simultaneously.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or communications (preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in growth or product marketing.
