About the Role

As the Director of SMB Growth Marketing at Walmart Connect, you will design and scale a CRM and lifecycle marketing practice that drives advertiser acquisition, engagement, and retention across small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). With a focus on 3P Sellers (domestic and international) and Emerging advertisers, you will build personalized, data-driven customer journeys that accelerate growth and deliver long-term value. This role requires a strategic, innovative leader who leverages CRM technologies, AI-driven marketing, and automation to scale programs efficiently. You will create multi-channel, multi-touch experiences across owned, earned, and paid channels to deliver the right personalized content to the right advertisers at the right time. Your leadership will ensure Walmart Connect becomes the partner of choice for SMB advertisers, balancing strategic impact with operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accelerate Activations - Launch high-velocity marketing programs that drive new advertiser activations at scale, prioritizing high-quality segments with the greatest potential for success.
  • Strengthen Retention - Develop 'always-on' lifecycle programs that deepen engagement, usage, and maximize ROI. Deliver content and recommendations that help advertisers optimize campaigns and build long-term confidence in the platform.
  • Implement AI-Supported Marketing Programs - Integrate AI tools into CRM and lifecycle marketing to enhance personalization, optimize campaign delivery, and predict advertiser needs.
  • Automate Workflows - Modernize CRM operations by integrating customer data and performance metrics into marketing automation platforms. Reduce manual processes to increase speed, personalization, and scalability of lifecycle campaigns.
  • Multi-Channel, Multi-Touch Marketing - Design integrated programs that span owned (email, site, SMS, in-app, webinars) and paid media channels, ensuring coordinated messaging and personalized journeys.
  • Institutionalize Experimentation - Build a test-and-learn framework to continually optimize activation and retention strategies, scaling what works and sunsetting what doesn't.
  • Data-Driven Insights - Define and track KPIs, analyze campaign performance, and apply insights to refine strategies, translating complex data into actionable improvements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration - Work closely with Sales, Product, Marketplace, Business Operations, Analytics, and Brand Marketing to align initiatives with broader business objectives.
  • Team Leadership & Inclusion - Lead and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of inclusivity, innovation, and executional excellence. Empower the team to set objectives, track KPIs, and generate bold ideas.

Requirements

  • 8-10+ years of experience in CRM/Lifecycle Marketing for B2B.
  • Proven experience in scaling acquisition and retention campaigns.
  • Experience in retail media is a plus.
  • Proven success building and executing data-driven customer journeys that improve acquisition, engagement, and retention.
  • Expertise in CRM platforms and tools (Salesforce ecosystem, Sales Cloud, Marketing Cloud, etc.), with experience integrating data across sources for lifecycle programs.
  • Deep collaboration with sales and product teams.
  • Experience designing and implementing AI-supported marketing programs for personalization and optimization.
  • Strong track record with multi-channel, multi-touch campaigns (owned, earned, paid) that drive measurable results.
  • Analytical and data-driven leader with expertise in defining KPIs, monitoring performance, and translating insights into strategy.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to navigate matrixed organizations.
  • Proven ability to lead inclusive, high-performing teams that foster collaboration and innovation.

Nice to Have

  • MBA or advanced degree.
  • Previous experience with retail media or digital marketplaces.
  • Experience building new tools and processes from the ground up.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field.
  • 6 years' experience in marketing or related field, or 8 years' experience in marketing or related field.
