About the Role

The Executive Director, Rare Disease Marketing at ACADIA Pharmaceuticals will be a key commercial leader responsible for driving the successful U.S. launch of a potential new therapy for a rare neurodevelopmental disorder. The role involves shaping the broader strategy for Acadia's rare disease franchise, leading innovative HCP marketing strategies, and collaborating cross-functionally to build brand positioning, disease awareness, and core messaging. The position also supports global expansion efforts and future pipeline opportunities, making a meaningful impact in the lives of patients and families affected by rare neurological disorders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess US market landscape and market insights to refine and implement best-in-class go-to-market launch plan, re-assessing as needed to drive results
  • Lead the development of US HCP marketing strategy and launch plans in collaboration with cross-functional teams including Sales, Medical Affairs, Market Access, and others
  • Develop brand positioning, disease state awareness campaigns, and education narratives
  • Create HCP focused strategies and execute campaigns to drive disease awareness and earlier diagnosis
  • Oversee development of core messaging, campaign development, and digital ecosystem strategies
  • Manage HCP pre-launch, launch, and post-launch tactical execution, including congress planning and KOL engagement
  • Manage relationships with advertising agencies and vendors, ensuring deliverables are met
  • Collaborate with MLR team for approval of marketing strategies and tactics
  • Define, track, and report on key metrics for strategies and campaigns
  • Support global market expansion efforts in Rett syndrome and pipeline therapies such as Prader-Willi syndrome

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, healthcare, business administration, or related field; master's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible experience within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry
  • At least 5 years of marketing experience including launch experience
  • Strong scientific/medical aptitude and ability to communicate complex concepts simply
  • Strategic mindset and business acumen
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills
  • Demonstrated ability to drive results as a cross-functional leader
  • Ability to travel as required

Nice to Have

  • Preferred qualifications in rare neurological disorders (pediatric or adult onset)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, healthcare, business administration, or related field
  • Master's degree preferred
  • At least 15 years of industry experience
  • At least 5 years of marketing and launch experience
