About the Role

As a Field Marketing Strategist at Port of Subs, you'll be instrumental in driving sales for existing restaurants while leading the successful launch of new locations in the quick-service restaurant (QSR) industry. You'll serve as a key liaison between corporate and franchise operations, developing powerful market entry strategies, executing restaurant openings, and working hand-in-hand with our franchise network. This role is designed for individuals passionate about strategic marketing, event coordination, and proven expertise in the QSR space, offering a dynamic, fun, and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis, providing franchisees with valuable insights on target demographics and optimal market areas.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and local dynamics to ensure the success of both new and existing restaurants.
  • Design and implement customized marketing, advertising, and promotional strategies for new locations.
  • Create buzz around grand openings and enhance brand visibility in new regions.
  • Serve as the go-to marketing expert for franchisees, offering hands-on support through pre-opening, grand opening, and post-opening phases.
  • Lead and manage key promotional events, including grand openings, anniversaries, and ownership transitions.
  • Coordinate giveaways and community-focused activities, ensuring all events align with brand standards and strengthen customer engagement.
  • Collaborate with franchisees to develop marketing budgets, set ROI targets, and analyze campaign performance for continuous improvement.
  • Adapt national marketing strategies to fit the unique cultural and media landscapes of individual markets.
  • Conduct regular visits (both in-person and virtual) to evaluate restaurant performance, identify opportunities for growth, and offer actionable recommendations based on KPIs and market feedback.
  • Provide leadership to regional advertising co-ops, assisting with media planning and budget preparation.
  • Work closely with the corporate marketing team, Franchise Business Consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure cohesive marketing strategies.
  • Stay up-to-date on traditional and digital marketing trends and apply these insights to refine strategies.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support the ongoing growth and success of the brand.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in market entry strategies, grand opening management, or similar roles within the QSR industry.
  • Prior experience with both corporate and franchise operations is preferred.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Proven analytical skills and strong strategic planning capabilities.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience in digital marketing, event management, and local market analysis.
  • Ability to guide and educate franchisees on marketing campaigns and budget management.
  • Deep industry knowledge of franchise trends, local market dynamics, and consumer behavior in the QSR sector.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and creative thinking.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude and relationship-building skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate a vehicle.

  • Experience with franchise operations beyond the minimum requirements.

  • Field marketing experience: 3 years.
