The role of the FT Deli Bakery Sales Manager (H) is to support store operations, meet financial and sales goals, build associate and customer relations, and promote a strong company culture within the store, particularly within the Deli Bakery HMS Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Deli Bakery HMS Department in the absence of the Deli Manager, including supervising the performance of all duties and responsibilities of Deli Bakery HMS Associates.
  • Daily management of labor and coaching associates to achieve productivity expectations.
  • Support the achievement of budgeted financial and operating results.
  • Provide excellent customer service by creating a positive shopping experience and promoting a friendly, fast, and flexible environment.
  • Control store expenses through proper ordering, care for supplies and equipment.
  • Understand and utilize company tools such as financial reports, ACIS, scheduling, productivity, ordering (CAO), and business information systems.
  • Ensure department appearance, quality, variety, safety, food safety, and sanitation are maintained.
  • Write Deli Bakery HMS schedules to ensure extraordinary customer service.
  • Oversee ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning, and display of merchandise in accordance with policies.
  • Observe and correct unsafe conditions, ensure compliance with regulations, and record/report accidents.
  • Monitor shrink and provide coaching to prevent inventory losses.
  • Ensure proper utilization of advertising and sales promotion materials.
  • Maintain security standards and a neat personal appearance.
  • Complete required training courses and meet physical requirements of the position.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team.
  • Strong understanding of store operations and merchandising techniques preferred.
  • Effective communication, customer service, and selling skills.
  • Willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
  • Ability to use technical information to solve problems.
  • Must meet minimum age requirements for the position.
  • Accreditation by the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals or similar as a "Certified Food Safety Manager" or ability to achieve within 90 days.
  • Ability to use computers and communication systems required for the job.
  • Physical ability to push/pull heavy loads, lift products, stand for long periods, and handle cleaning substances.
  • Tolerance for working in extreme hot/cold temperatures for up to 20 minutes.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in retail operations and merchandising techniques.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • Food Safety Manager accreditation or ability to obtain within 90 days.
