About the Role

This position is a Federal Work Study role at Stevens Institute of Technology, specifically within the Office of Student Affairs. The Social Media Assistant supports ongoing communications by creating and updating content on websites and social media platforms, contributing to the department's efforts in leadership development, community engagement, and promoting inclusion and diversity. The role involves both in-person and remote work, with a focus on engaging digital content and strategic communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, create and maintain engaging social media content.
  • Support the development of social media strategies.
  • Update websites with current and accurate information.
  • Review and improve website functionality.
  • Research existing trends and best practices.
  • Assist with the creation of marketing and digital advertising materials.
  • Ensure that all content and materials adhere to brand standards.
  • Collaborate with staff and faculty to support website and social media initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be an undergraduate student who has received Federal Work Study.
  • Ability to creatively write content to engage an intended audience.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and organize time effectively.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to update websites and social media platforms.
  • Effective use of social and digital media for communication.
  • Proficiency with editing software and various computer applications.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with social media management tools.
  • Knowledge of website content management systems.
  • Experience in digital marketing or content creation.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate student enrolled at Stevens Institute of Technology.
  • Received Federal Work Study as indicated on Financial Aid Award Letter.
