About the Role

We are looking for someone passionate about steam! As the Sr. Manager - Global Steam Growth Programs for Emerson you will work with a global team to drive strategies for growth, strengthen our market position, and improve our brand perception in the global steam market. You will be responsible for developing and executing a global steam service strategy, leading thought leadership activities, and establishing the company as an industry expert. The role involves acting as a liaison between product management, sales, and other Emerson business units to ensure relevant, valuable, and differentiated product and service solutions for customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Go-to-Market Strategy Creation, Value Messaging and Sales / Services Collateral Creation
  • Develop a comprehensive and scalable global steam service strategy, incorporating market analysis, value proposition, strategic partnerships, and digital integration into a phased rollout approach, to drive sustainable growth for assigned products.
  • Coordinate with World Area Sales and Lifecycle Services counterparts to design parts and service frameworks to support growth and tailor to their specific needs.
  • Build value proposition messaging for global services marketing campaigns spanning entire Final Control / Emerson solution.
  • Conduct research into industry trends, customer pain points, and competitor activities.
  • Research, monitor and communicate market dynamics such as segment growth, new opportunities and trends in economies, technology and competitive positioning.
  • Give product marketing customer insights related to maintenance and repair, to integrate into product development efforts.
  • Provide global product and industry support for steam products and applications to drive business growth.
  • Lead industry thought leadership through speaking engagements at key industry forums, white papers, publications, and industry committees.
  • Find opportunities for new business and market expansion and implement strategies to penetrate those markets.
  • Build strong relationships with key industry partners and customers.
  • Deliver customer support by supporting trade shows, customer visits, trainings, and other events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Marketing, Business or any other related field / relevant equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of experience in the process and / or steam utility space with deep knowledge of the market, competitive product, customers, and applications.
  • 2 years of experience in service technician roles, service company environments, and/or service channel management.
  • Deep, functional knowledge of company products and customer applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills across various media to coordinate with product managers, sales offices, and cross-functional teams.
  • Proven organizational, project management, written, oral and presentation skills.
  • Capability to think strategically and perform duties with minimal direction.
  • Ability to travel at least 25+% of the time to customer sites, sales offices, and industry events / tradeshows.

Nice to Have

  • 10+ years' experience in engineering, sales, business development, strategic planning, marketing, or any other related field.
  • MBA or advanced degree.
  • Experience in business development.
  • Proven ability to apply analytics techniques to business problems.
  • Experience working with Industrial Products / Valves.
