About the Role

The Google Marketing Platform - Marketing Tech & Data Consultant supports enterprise growth by deploying Caterpillar's Google Marketing Platform, including Google Analytics Suite, to various business units, industry groups, dealers, and suppliers. The role involves building understanding of marketing and business objectives, facilitating the utilization of platform capabilities to drive value, and bridging IT and business data and analytics to provide insights, strategy, and alignment with stakeholders. Caterpillar Inc., through its digital arm Cat Digital, leverages data, technology, analytics, telematics, and AI to create industry-leading digital solutions aimed at building a more sustainable world.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply technical and business knowledge while consulting with industry & segment business partners, site owners, dealers, suppliers, and other teams.
  • Coordinate deployment processes and gather requirements related to Google Marketing Platform - Google Analytics Suite capabilities, ensuring business needs are met.
  • Interact extensively with digital team members, product owners, data owners, and analytics teams to understand capabilities, integration points, and development status, and communicate requirements back to enterprise teams.
  • Create, implement, and maintain processes including intake with business partners and handoffs with architecture, engineering, and development teams.
  • Evaluate business processes, identify areas for improvement, and develop and implement process and governance solutions.
  • Document meetings with stakeholders, produce notes, reports, and high-level requirements for review by Product Managers or Product Owners.
  • Gather business requirements, perform analysis, and create Epics, Features, and User stories for engineering teams.
  • Initiate digital projects to identify linkages and synergies across business units, industries, and dealers.
  • Drive collaboration, coordination, training, communication, and alignment among related areas and partners.
  • Monitor project deliverables for deadlines and completeness, conduct audits, and escalate issues as needed.
  • Conduct meetings, create communications and training, and present findings and deliverables.
  • Assist business partners in identifying issues, coordinating solutions with architecture, engineering, and development teams.
  • Support future-focused assessment of global and industry impact and help provide strategic direction.

Requirements

  • Customer focus with the ability to leverage customer needs in business decisions.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing processes, techniques, and platforms.
  • Effective communication skills for transmitting and interpreting ideas and information.
  • Relationship management techniques to establish and maintain healthy working relationships.
  • Technical knowledge of Google Marketing Platform and experience with digital marketing technologies including Salesforce Sales & Marketing Clouds and Hightouch.
  • Experience working with onshore/offshore teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Azure Dev Ops.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse teams and resolve conflicts.
  • Experience with Google Analytics, GCP BigQuery, Looker, and data analysis strategies.
  • Bachelor's degree in eBusiness, digital marketing, analytics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven track record of leading/supporting projects on time and within budget.

Nice to Have

  • Technical knowledge of Google Marketing Platform.
  • Experience with digital marketing technologies including Salesforce Sales & Marketing Clouds and Hightouch.
  • Experience working with onshore/offshore teams.
  • Advanced Google Analytics reporting skills.
  • Familiarity with GCP BigQuery, Looker, and data analysis strategies.
  • Knowledge of Caterpillar policies, standards, and organization.
