WKYT-TV is a CBS and CW affiliate in Lexington, KY, producing over 9.5 hours of news daily and thriving in a fast-paced, community-oriented environment. The internship program offers immersive, hands-on experience across various departments within Gray Media, providing opportunities for learning, resume building, and potential full-time employment.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as a valued team member in various departments such as news, production, sales, marketing, or engineering.
Gain hands-on experience by participating in daily station operations and projects.
Learn from seasoned professionals in the broadcast industry.
Contribute to the station's news, production, sales, or marketing efforts as assigned.
Participate in the internship program's immersive activities designed to develop broadcast expertise.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in a college/university, preferably Junior or Senior.
Strong work ethic and organizational skills.
Earning a degree in Journalism, Communications, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, News, Sports, or related fields.
Interest in gaining hands-on experience in the local media industry.
Interest in departments such as Marketing, Sales, Creative Services, Sports, Weather, News Production, News MMJ, or Engineering.

Nice to Have

Previous experience or coursework related to broadcast media or journalism.
Knowledge of digital media tools or broadcast equipment.

Qualifications

Enrolled in a college or university program.
Preferred Junior or Senior level students.
Interest in media, journalism, communications, or related fields.
