IT - Quality Assurance Specialist

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with Business System Analysts (BSA) and Product Owners (PO) to understand requirements and create comprehensive test cases in Jira.
• Work in partnership with developers for defect triaging and retesting to ensure all issues are resolved efficiently.
• Provide regular reports to your direct manager and escalate any issues that may arise promptly.
• Ensure all aspects of the system have proper testing coverage, focusing on system reliability, performance, and quality.
• Participate in the system development life cycle (SDLC) and project management methodology (PMLC) by engaging in scope assessment, risk, and cost analysis.
• Coach, lead, and mentor other team members as needed.
• Manage testing for ongoing projects and future initiatives, delivering solutions that meet key project milestones and adhere to development and quality standards.
• Analyze testing needs and develop effective testing strategies and plans.
• Review and approve test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures, including database impacts, software scenarios, or usability.
• Ensure software documentation is accurate, compliant, complete, and updated in a timely manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in using Selenium for automated testing, ensuring robust and efficient test execution.
• Proficiency in Java to support test automation and script development.
• Ability to utilize Cucumber for behavior-driven development (BDD) to enhance collaboration and understanding between technical and non-technical team members.
• Strong skills in manual testing to identify and resolve software defects effectively.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Jira for test case management and tracking.
