About the Role

As a Sr. Lead Analyst, the job responsibilities include having a broad understanding of the Capital Markets and a demonstrated ability to manage multiple sectors and asset classes within the capital markets. The Sr. Lead Research Analyst will demonstrate proficiency in meeting with clients, promoting our wealth management business, and publishing articles consistent with our department's investment objectives. The Sr. Lead Research Analyst will have developed a network of professional contacts, Wall Street and with the Senior Leadership Teams. It will be the responsibility of the Sr. Lead Analyst to be the team leader for a particular asset class.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply knowledge of mathematics and statistics in research duties with a working understanding of regression analysis and basic statistical methods.
  • Participate in conference calls with Sell-side analysts, rating agencies, and issuer management teams.
  • Prepare and apply financial forecasts, comparable company analyses, and valuation models to identify opportunities.
  • Prepare and participate in presentations to investment strategy teams and clients.
  • Provide clear written and oral communication regarding issuer opportunities and concerns, including final transaction decisions.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned by management.
  • Provide coaching on job competencies and leadership qualities, and identify prospects for strategic guidance.
  • Use Microsoft Office Suite for financial statement optimization modeling and portfolio analysis.
  • Manage and identify opportunities to cultivate business through client delivery and employee development.
  • Deliver actionable insights to strengthen branding and identify growth opportunities.
  • Ensure strategies reflect in-market learning and marketing messages are optimized for ROI.
  • Assess research prudently to identify value among entities with varying risk metrics.
  • Build and maintain high-profile relationships with issuers and Wall Street resources.
  • Present credits and sector thesis effectively to portfolio managers, clients, and during internal meetings.
  • Develop strategies to deliver maximum risk-adjusted returns.
  • Manage client expectations on projects of varied scale, prioritizing activities independently.
  • Price external research studies and resources effectively.
  • Grow network of contacts to discover new opportunities and enhance client perception.
  • Understand investment models, industry dynamics, and competitive analysis.
  • Demonstrate leadership and proactively interact with stakeholders.
  • Develop marketing materials for clients and media.
  • Assist in managing and monitoring separately managed portfolios.
  • Partner with portfolio management teams for client service and prospect calls.
  • Offer expertise in assembling internally managed strategies for evolving markets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics with a minimum of 6 years of relevant investment experience.
  • Master's degree or CFA preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Bloomberg, and S&P's CAP IQ.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment driven by market conditions.
  • Strong communication skills for oral presentations and written reports.
  • Ability to work independently supporting various investment strategies.
  • Commitment to learning and developing relationships supporting department goals.
  • Ability to apply statistical methods to macroeconomic theory and financial modeling.

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree or CFA certification.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
