Job Description

About the Role

This position will be part of a team that performs engineering and management of data protection technologies including Managed HSMs, Hashicorp Vault, Azure Key Vault, and other key and secret management systems. Candidates must have intermediate to advanced systems engineering experience in medium to large enterprise environments, with extensive experience in Linux Server operating systems, security appliances, and data protection/encryption technologies. The role involves supporting and managing encryption technologies, collaborating with vendors, creating technical documentation, and ensuring security and compliance across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Provide Tier 3 support and engineering for management of data protection technologies along with production support responsibilities for key and secret management
Engineer/develop scripting and best practices/procedures for automation with Terraform, Github, Ansible
Create technical/engineering documentation
Participate in the research, analysis, design, testing and implementation of complex data protection technologies for the cloud
Participate in interactions with encryption technology vendors to ensure product engineering aligns with security objectives
Work with partner engineering teams on identification and remediation of security vulnerabilities and conduct risk assessments to ensure compliance with security policies
Perform access, configuration change, and health monitoring of key and secret management platforms, including log review and scripting for automation
Provide periodic 24/7 on-call support rotation and work some evenings either remotely or on-site
May provide technical guidance to less experienced staff

Requirements

5+ years of Information Security Engineering experience or equivalent
4+ years of experience with information security applications and systems
4+ years of Linux operating system engineering or automation experience
3+ years of experience with scripting and automation using Ansible
3+ years of experience or strong understanding of encryption or related data protection technologies

Nice to Have

Current certification for Hashicorp Vault
Experience with Agile Scrum and/or Kanban methodologies
Experience with engineering and support of AKV, Hashicorp Vault
Knowledge of server/file encryption technology, encryption key management, and security policies
Experience with infrastructure upgrades, security patches, or version upgrades
Cloud certification for Google or Azure
CISSP certification
Knowledge of cryptography, key management, digital certificates, and keys for authentication and encryption
Customer service experience
Experience facilitating remote meetings
Advanced problem solving and troubleshooting skills

Qualifications

Educational background or certifications as specified in the requirements
Current Hashicorp Vault certification (preferred)
