About the Role

The Manager, Business Development is responsible for expanding the company's footprint in the foodservice sector by identifying new opportunities, building strategic relationships, and driving revenue through innovative sales approaches. This role focuses on acquiring and growing accounts with restaurants, hospitality groups, institutional kitchens, and other foodservice operators. The position requires knowledge of product information, industry trends, and related technology, functioning as a team member within the department and organization to best serve the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and prospect potential clients within the foodservice industry.
  • Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to expand customer base and increase market share.
  • Achieve and exceed sales targets and KPIs.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Understand customer needs and provide tailored product and service recommendations.
  • Develop pricing strategies, proposals, and presentations for prospective customers; negotiate and close sales contracts with foodservice buyers and purchasing managers.
  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends to refine strategies.
  • Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Product Development, and Supply Chain to ensure customer satisfaction and product availability.
  • Track and report on sales metrics, pipeline progress, and business development performance.
  • Forecast sales and prepare regular reports for leadership.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or other related education/experience in Business, Food Science, Marketing, Hospitality or related area.
  • 5 years of experience in Business to Business foodservice sales or business development.
  • Proven experience in selling to restaurants, institutional buyers, or hospitality clients.
  • Strong knowledge of the foodservice industry and distribution channels.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage long sales cycles and multiple client accounts simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and MS Office tools.
