About the Role

The Market Access Marketing & NPP Lead, IZERVAY, is responsible for developing, integrating, and executing strategies and tactical plans that optimize market access and drive engagement through non-personal promotion. This role requires strong cross-functional leadership and collaboration across commercial, medical, and access functions to ensure cohesive communication and strategy alignment. The position is based in San Francisco, CA, with hybrid work options permitted in accordance with Astellas' Responsible Flexibility Guidelines. The role plays a critical part within the IZERVAY brand team, reporting to the US Commercial Head, IZERVAY, and involves working in a fast-paced, matrixed environment to deliver innovative therapies to patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and integration of payer & provider market access and NPP strategy to ensure alignment with brand goals and broader organizational priorities.
  • Partner with Brand Marketing, Market Access, RKALs, ARMs, Sales, HEOR, Medical, Regulatory, Legal, and Insights & Analytics to identify and deliver high-impact strategies that support coverage, affordability, and pull-through.
  • Drive development of access-oriented materials including value propositions, budget impact models, payer-focused RWE/PRO tools, trade and distribution resources, and EHR order set content in partnership with Retina Marketing.
  • Translate access strategy into actionable tools for field teams such as payer pull-through guides, out-of-pocket cost support messaging, policy navigation materials, provider program guides, and reimbursement tools.
  • Collaborate with MAx Insights and Analytics to inform segmentation, targeting, and message optimization for payer audiences.
  • Lead the development of NPP strategies to ensure the right customer is reached in the right channel, at the right cadence, and with the right message.
  • Lead the deployment of omnichannel NPP campaigns (email, digital media, CRM, web) to drive education, awareness, and activation across HCP segments, including those not reached by the field force.
  • Partner with the omnichannel team to shape content journeys aligned to access and brand strategy.
  • Collaborate with Retina Marketing in developing creative assets and ensure campaigns are measured against KPIs with optimization plans.
  • Collaborate with field teams, CL&D, and Access field leadership to ensure seamless rollout and pull-through of access and NPP materials.
  • Develop and implement training modules to ensure proper utilization and message consistency across customer-facing teams.
  • Serve as a liaison between headquarters and field teams to facilitate feedback and iterative improvements.
  • Manage budgets for payer marketing and NPP activities, ensuring efficient allocation aligned with strategic goals.
  • Lead agency relationships across payer and omnichannel initiatives to ensure timely and compliant development and deployment of materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MPH, etc.) preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical marketing, with at least 4 years in market access and/or omnichannel marketing.
  • Deep understanding of the US healthcare system, payer dynamics (Medicare, Commercial, VA/DoD), and buy-and-bill reimbursement models.
  • Proven success in developing and executing integrated access and NPP strategies.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and external agencies.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets effectively and prioritize competing initiatives.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%.
