About the Role

The role of Market Development & Planning Manager is to help drive market share and profit growth through development of go-to-market strategies for the brand that are optimized across channels and customers. This individual collaborates with brand marketing, customer planning, and sales to improve cross-channel assortment, pricing strategy, innovation pipeline, and new business development. Key Responsibilities

  • Liaison between Sales and Brand to build strategies to win
  • Develop and implement annual Category Management Plans and corresponding Selling Stories
  • Create and execute channel and customer-specific strategies, including product pricing, new product launches, and promotional activities
  • Connect with RGM Function for Investment Choices
  • Create DSMP Playbooks (Perfect Omni Store)
  • Set and communicate DSMP targets
  • Partner with Customer Teams on customer-specific opportunities
  • Translate Brand Innovation into Customer Strategies for Growth
  • Feed all Customer & Innovation Opportunities to Brand Teams as the voice of the customer
  • Track and refine DSMP plans and investments
  • Conduct S&OP Forecasting & Optimization across the category of responsibility

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years of experience with a CPG or durable goods company, ideally in channel management, brand management, insights, or sales, preferably with retail/mass channel
  • Demonstrated experience managing a minimum of $10-20M book of business
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization with the ability to partner with multiple teams
  • Knowledge of US retail customers
  • Experience working with syndicated POS and Panel Data
  • Strong business acumen and ability to influence cross-functional partners
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time

Nice to Have

  • Experience in developing national selling stories
  • Ability to analyze market and category data to identify key opportunities
  • Experience in channel management, brand management, insights, or sales in retail/mass channels
