Job Description

About the Role

The Market Development Manager (MDM) is responsible for driving the growth of the Fine Chemicals market segment within the Industrial Process Filtration Division of Parker Hannifin Corporation. This role involves leading strategic marketing initiatives, including market segmentation, competitive and pricing analysis, new product development, and product commercialization. The MDM partners closely with division management and sales teams to develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans that encompass market coverage, channel strategy, communications, and sales planning, with a focus on product applications in the industrial and fine chemicals markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supports Product Sales Managers and Product Managers in managing product life cycles to the fine chemicals market
  • Provides monthly updates on key growth strategies and new product development projects to division leadership
  • Develops and propels the division's strategic action plan to aggressively target the fine chemicals/industrial segment
  • Leads blueprinting activities to engage and collaborate with key customers, providing the division with a robust product innovation pipeline
  • Drives growth by acquiring new customers and expanding applications within the fine chemicals/industrial space
  • Supports product management with portfolio strategy and lifecycle planning
  • Collaborates with marketing to develop sales support materials including literature, website content, success stories, and white papers

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years experience in field sales; experience in product sales management helpful
  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project software products
  • Familiarity with CRM platform, such as Salesforce
  • Familiarity with internet market research routines and research database assets
  • Fine chemicals/industrial applications knowledge highly preferred
