About the Role

The Market Growth Director role at UnitedHealthcare involves defining the local go-to market strategy and leading the local sales team to meet membership growth targets while outpacing the competition. Key Responsibilities

  • Drive Medicare sales growth across all channels and develop and execute strategic sales business plans to achieve or exceed sales goals.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies, including demand generation plans and sales processes for direct and partner channels.
  • Ensure membership goals are met through new member acquisition and managing sales-related member migration and retention programs.
  • Partner with local marketing teams to maximize sales leads and direct-to-consumer opportunities that support national growth initiatives.
  • Engage with internal partners to drive growth and retention within the market.
  • Build and maintain a high-performing team of Market Growth Managers through coaching, mentoring, and development.
  • Create a talent pipeline for future leadership roles and identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Drive innovation and evolve market strategies, increasing system automation for reporting, monitoring, and customer service escalations.
  • Manage acquisition costs, investments, and spend related to staff, marketing, and community programs.
  • Grow relationships with agencies, assess agency recruiting needs, and present at agency partner events.
  • Manage all aspects of new strategic account development, including prospecting, consultation, building alliances, and closing opportunities.
  • Identify and qualify new sales opportunities and develop plans for introducing new solutions through agency relationships.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of sales team management experience.
  • 5+ years of sales or business development experience.
  • Health & life insurance license must be obtained and maintained as required by state law.
  • Proven success in exceeding company sales quotas.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% within the assigned sales territory, including overnight travel.
  • Driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
