Key Responsibilities

  • Plans, coordinates, and prepares proposals of moderate scope and complexity in response to customer requests.
  • Participates as a team member in support of major marketing or complex proposal efforts and/or post-sales marketing support.
  • Analyzes customer requests to determine the nature of the request, the best response format, and the internal resources required.
  • Coordinates development and compilation of information from functional departments to respond effectively to customer requests, reviewing and editing responses for accuracy and clarity.
  • Researches and analyzes historical data to support responses, interprets technical data, and responds to customer inquiries via correspondence or on-site visits.
  • Interfaces with customer representatives during fact-finding to gather or provide information on pricing and develop pricing justification.
  • Coordinates efforts of the proposal response team, assigns research, analysis, review, writing, graphics, and monitors progress to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Provides contract information, researches data, answers questions, resolves contract discrepancies.
  • Develops and conducts product presentations for seminars, technical symposiums, trade shows, and customer facilities.
  • Maintains knowledge of division, group, and corporate philosophies, and critical customer issues to promote and expand business opportunities.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge through workshops, publications, industry networks, and professional associations.
  • Collects, analyzes, organizes, and maintains data for marketing reports, analyses, and proposals, including customer programs and organizational structures.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and aerospace industry regulations and advises management on needed actions.
  • Shares specialized knowledge, represents the company on specific projects, mentors new employees, and contributes to team efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Typically two or more years of increasingly responsible marketing or proposal management experience.
  • Knowledge of principles, industry practices, regulations, and policies related to proposal response and management.
  • Knowledge of related legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to apply continuous improvement principles and techniques.
  • Proficiency with business software applications such as databases and spreadsheets.
  • Ability to analyze problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Strong written communication skills to produce proposals that conform to prescribed styles and formats.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and respond to inquiries from customers and regulatory agencies.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with technical data interpretation and problem resolution involving technical data.
  • Experience in conducting product presentations and technical seminars.
  • Familiarity with aerospace industry regulations and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Two or more years of relevant marketing or proposal management experience.
