About the Role

The Marketing Automation & Engagement Specialist at California State University (CSU) Northridge develops and executes multi-channel strategies to engage students, alumni, and partners. The role involves building automated campaigns, integrating CRM tools, optimizing content, supporting social media, and applying data insights to deliver personalized, brand-compliant communications that drive meaningful engagement across the student lifecycle. The position is part of CSUN's Tseng College, which provides advanced professional education and collaborates with various organizations to meet organizational needs. Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute multi-channel strategies to engage students, alumni, and partners.
Build automated campaigns and integrate CRM tools to support engagement efforts.
Optimize content and support social media initiatives across platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
Apply data insights to deliver personalized, brand-compliant communications that enhance engagement across the student lifecycle.
Manage AI-enabled tools and automation systems including chatbots, SMS tools, and other emerging automation platforms.
Collaborate with IT and CRM teams to design automated workflows, including drip campaigns, lead scoring, segmentation, and content personalization.
Track campaign performance, analyze data, and leverage Customer Data Platforms (CDPs) to improve targeting and strategy.

Requirements

Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university; Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Information or Educational Technologies, Business Analytics, or related fields preferred.
An advanced degree in a relevant discipline is highly desirable.
Equivalent of four years of full-time experience with marketing/customer relations software, marketing communications, customer relationship management, and/or integrated marketing.
Proficiency with AI-enabled tools and automation platforms such as Conversica, chatbots, SMS tools, and emerging automation systems.
Skilled in collaborating with IT and CRM teams to design automated workflows including drip campaigns, lead scoring, segmentation, and content personalization.
Strong analytical skills to track campaign performance, create segmentation models, and utilize Customer Data Platforms (CDPs).
Ability to support social media strategy through content development and campaign integration.

Nice to Have

Experience with social media content creation and management.
Knowledge of marketing strategy development and analysis skills.
Familiarity with marketing analytics and content creation tools.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as Marketing, Computer Science, or Educational Technologies.
Four years of full-time experience in marketing/customer relations software or related fields.
