About the Role

The Marketing Generalist is a dynamic and adaptable member of the Marketing and Communications team at Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences (PNWU). This role supports a wide range of marketing functions including graphic design, social media management, website management, and copywriting. The position is essential for maintaining brand consistency, supporting recruitment efforts, and enhancing the university's visibility across digital and print platforms. PNWU is a non-profit medical institution located in Yakima, WA, serving a diverse student body and working to increase access to healthcare in underserved areas of the Pacific Northwest.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design graphics and visual assets for digital and print use, including social media, email, web, and event materials.
  • Develop, manage, and schedule organic social media content across platforms, ensuring alignment with brand voice and strategic goals.
  • Write and edit marketing copy for various channels including web pages, email campaigns, social media posts, and print collateral.
  • Maintain and update website content using the university's content management system (CMS), ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and brand consistency.
  • Support marketing campaigns and initiatives by assisting with project coordination, asset creation, strategic messaging, and branded merchandise inventory.
  • Fill in for other marketing roles as needed, providing flexible support across the department.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned and based on departmental need.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a marketing and communications role.
  • Strong design and visual communication skills.
  • Skilled in effective writing and editing abilities.
  • Knowledge in social media platforms and content creation.
  • Knowledge in website content management systems.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and contribute across multiple marketing functions.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress).
  • Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Slate).
  • Experience with social media scheduling tools.
  • Photography skills using camera or smartphone.
