Job Description

About the Role

Brookfield Properties is seeking a Marketing Intern for the summer at their Chicago office. The company believes retail should be anything but typical, focusing on creating inspiring spaces that draw consumers in, helping tenants build their brands, contributing to communities, and bringing people together. The internship involves assisting the marketing department with consumer and tenant-facing programs, including digital campaigns, in-mall activations, website updates, press releases, social media monitoring, and trend analysis.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the campaign team with the execution of applicable in-mall programs and national campaigns, including reviewing creative copy and assets.
Partner with channel team to optimize the channel strategy of the applicable campaigns to drive awareness of program and key messages.
Research and document peer and campaigns and activations strategies.
Support channel team with execution of B2B and B2C campaigns, including paid social planning and execution, SEM planning and execution.
Ideate social media and employee advocacy content ideas for deployment across various platforms and properties within Brookfield Properties' brand guidelines.
Track and incorporate solutions to address various SEO issues.
Collaborate on the ideation and launch of Partner to Empower (PTE), supporting business owners of color, including administrative tasks, industry research, and outreach strategies.
Assess the current PTE program to understand key drivers and barriers.
Contribute to business-to-business, leasing, and revenue programs through communications, content creation, ad planning, and administrative tasks.
Serve as a liaison on behalf of other interns to drive engagement for employee advocacy, company initiatives, and workplace culture events.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in a university program and must be a graduating Senior (Grad Date Dec 2026-May 2027).
At least one marketing class completed.
Knowledge of marketing strategies and familiarity with new marketing tactics and tools.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Familiarity with a variety of social media platforms and tools.
Organization and time management skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Self-starter able to execute tasks and take the lead on projects independently.
Ability to quickly learn and process information.
Ability to work with teams and collaborate.
Ability to work with confidential materials and engender trust.
Detail-oriented, especially regarding content accuracy and clarity.

Nice to Have

Experience with marketing tools and digital campaign management.
Additional marketing coursework or certifications.
Experience with SEO and SEM strategies.
