About the Role

B. F. Saul Company Hospitality Group is a subsidiary of the largest private real estate company in the Washington, D.C. area, with over 130 years of operation. The Hospitality Group manages a portfolio of more than 20 business class hotels with top brands, including The Watermark Hotel, The Hay-Adams Hotel, and Perch Putt. The Watermark Hotel is seeking a creative and strategic Marketing Manager to oversee digital marketing efforts for its various venues, including a hotel, restaurant, golf course, and lounge. The role involves managing social media, content creation, website updates, reputation management, and on-site marketing initiatives in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive social media strategies for the hotel and all outlets across Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn
  • Create engaging content campaigns that align with each venue's unique brand identity and target audience
  • Manage daily social media operations including posting, engagement, and community management
  • Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions across all platforms in a timely and professional manner
  • Analyze and report social media performance metrics and adjust strategies to optimize engagement and reach
  • Conceptualize and produce high-quality visual and written content to increase engagement and drive inquiries
  • Conduct basic photography sessions focusing on food and beverage items, event setups, and property features
  • Utilize design platforms (particularly Canva) to create graphics, promotional materials, and social media assets
  • Maintain a consistent visual brand aesthetic across all digital touchpoints
  • Perform minor website updates including packages, menus, photos, and promotional content
  • Ensure all digital assets are current, accurate, and optimized for user experience
  • Coordinate with web development team for larger technical updates as needed
  • Monitor and manage online reviews across Google, TripAdvisor, and Medallia platforms
  • Respond professionally to guest feedback and work with operations teams to address concerns
  • Develop strategies to encourage positive reviews and improve online reputation
  • Design and implement on-property marketing materials including signage and promotional displays
  • Create and execute email marketing campaigns to support venue promotions and events
  • Collaborate with operations teams to support special events and seasonal campaigns

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of social media marketing experience
  • Previous experience in the hospitality industry preferred
  • Proven track record managing business social media accounts with measurable results
  • Proficiency with design, content management, and email marketing platforms
  • Basic photography skills with ability to conduct food, beverage, and event photography
  • Strong understanding of Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn business platforms
  • Exceptional organizational and project management abilities
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Creative problem-solver with 'outside the box' thinking approach
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to understand and translate unique brand positioning for different target audiences
