About the Role

The Western Athletic Conference (WAC), located in Arlington, TX, is accepting applications for the position of Marketing/Social Media Intern. This position will be a 10 month appointment, with a hybrid model of an in-office/WFH work week. This role involves assisting in all marketing and social media strategies of the conference to enhance the WAC brand through constituent outreach and engagement. The successful candidate will collaborate with sponsorship partners, work with membership marketing contacts, promote conference championships, and coordinate with graphic designers to establish brand continuity. This is an excellent opportunity to gain industry knowledge from experienced professionals across external departments.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in executing social media strategies and content creation.
Oversee content calendar and ensure brand consistency across all platforms.
Collaborate with sponsorship partners for full execution and activation of partnership fulfillment.
Communicate and connect with membership marketing contacts to support marketing initiatives.
Promote conference championships and execute marketing initiatives related to each championship host site.
Work jointly with the graphic designer to establish brand continuity.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree, or near completion of, and demonstrated understanding of athletics marketing.
Experience in athletics marketing on a college campus as a student assistant would be ideal.
Demonstrated expertise and proficiency in all social media platforms and trends.
Ability to create creative content projects that increase engagement.
Experience with analytical spreadsheet buildouts for strategy decision making based on social platform data.
