Job Description

About the Role

The Media Buyer and Planner oversees the buying and planning of advertising placements for the Chickasaw Nation Department of Commerce (CNDC). The role involves using market research to make strategic recommendations for advertising mediums, acquiring media space, maintaining relationships with sales agents, monitoring media campaigns, and ensuring timely and effective ad placements. This position is part of the Marketing Strategy team located at the Lincoln Building in Oklahoma City, OK, working full-time hours from 8:00AM to 5:00PM, Monday through Friday.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintains files, logs, and records.
  • Ensures confidentiality, security, and integrity of data and information.
  • Prepares weekly reports.
  • Mentors, coaches, develops, and assists in training in assigned area.
  • Assigns, reviews, monitors, and ensures performance of assigned staff.
  • Participates in candidate selection process.
  • Reviews and documents work effectiveness of assigned staff.
  • Coaches and corrects staff through performance feedback.
  • Ensures cooperative and respectful work relationships among staff.
  • Serves as the media buying expert within CNDC, communicating placement strategy and creating reports.
  • Negotiates and secures advantageous rates and placements for campaigns.
  • Executes media plans adhering to budgets and timelines.
  • Documents rates, special placements, and added value.
  • Manages creative asset trafficking to vendors.
  • Oversees campaign implementation, optimization, and performance.
  • Monitors media buys in real time and arranges for make goods and credits.
  • Communicates orders and changes clearly to media vendors.
  • Initiates purchase order requests and informs vendors about annual purchase orders.
  • Verifies vendor agreements and assists with planning for program growth.
  • Cultivates relationships across divisions and external entities.
  • Performs analysis of market trends and conditions.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities.
  • Resolves billing issues and acts as liaison with customers and suppliers.
  • Develops strategic advertising plans across multiple media channels.
  • Defines ROIs, measurements, and milestones.
  • Prepares ad hoc reports and collaborates on partnership strategies.
  • Manages outside vendors, contracts, and budgets.
  • Defines and tracks campaign success metrics.
  • Develops interpretive strategies for communication.
  • Ensures compliance with all laws, policies, and regulations.
  • Maintains knowledge of and enforces all relevant laws, rules, and policies.

Requirements

  • Management experience of 5 years.
  • Ability to follow instructions, both written and oral.
  • Ensures compliance with all laws, rules, regulations, policies, and SOPs.
  • Extreme customer-focused behavior.

  • Self-motivated with honesty, reliability, and accountability.

  • Gaming license or permit as required by position.
  • Standard Driver's License.
  • Pass gaming background check.
