About the Role

The Senior Negotiator, Digital Partnerships at IPG Mediabrands is responsible for developing, recommending, executing, and evaluating digital media plans from inception to completion with moderate oversight. The role involves working fairly independently once given project parameters, goals, and budgets, overseeing daily processes, and managing client and partner relationships within a dynamic, global marketing organization that manages over $47 billion in marketing investments across various industry sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, recommend, execute, and evaluate digital media plans from inception to completion with moderate oversight.
  • Work independently once given project parameters, goals, and budgets to develop sound recommendations with clear rationale.
  • Oversee the Negotiator and Associate in daily maintenance to ensure consistent processes and timely delivery of client schedules.
  • Attend regular client and vendor meetings, maintain ongoing rapport, and take on a more client-facing role with moderate oversight.
  • Mentor and assist in the training of Associates and Negotiators.
  • Work closely with Strategy and Communications Design teams to integrate overall strategy into media choices.
  • Provide partner selection recommendations and justifications to meet client objectives.
  • Develop RFPs and oversee the submission process with media partners.
  • Evaluate partner proposals, negotiate plan details, develop plans, and present recommendations to stakeholders and clients.
  • Oversee campaign implementation, optimization, and performance, including authorizations, IOs, budgets, creative, reporting, billing, and reconciliation.
  • Manage partner-specific budget allocation, optimization, media partnership programs, and added value details.
  • Secure best-in-class marketplace pricing and foster strong relationships with media partners.

Requirements

  • Digital media buying experience.
  • Knowledge of inventory management systems such as MediaOcean and Prisma.
  • Experience managing multiple, competing priorities, duties, and projects, with the ability to adapt to evolving responsibilities and last-minute changes.
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, colleagues, and vendors.
  • Required PC proficiency and solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong written, verbal communication, and negotiation skills; good presentation skills are a plus.
  • Experience analyzing data and market research.

Nice to Have

  • 2+ years working within the digital media space preferred.
  • Experience with campaign management/ad serving technology such as Atlas DMT and Media Mind.
  • Preferred working knowledge of third-party internet marketing research tools like comScore Media Metrix, Nielsen NetView, @Plan, NetRatings, and others.
  • Familiarity with basic accounting/math principles and basic statistical analysis experience.

Qualifications

  • Experience managing digital media campaigns and negotiations.
  • Knowledge of media inventory management systems and campaign management tools.
  • Strong organizational, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
