About the Role

The Senior Broadcast Buyer role at Carmichael Lynch involves negotiating and implementing broadcast media buys, maintaining contracts, performing post-analysis, and supporting platform initiatives. Key Responsibilities

  • Negotiate local broadcast media buys for radio and television
  • Develop market expertise in large and small DMAs
  • Cultivate relationships with vendors and outside entities
  • Understand client objectives and evaluate approaches to meet them
  • Work closely with the media strategy team on broadcast planning rates
  • Maintain buying activity on Media Ocean OX
  • Evaluate and accept makegoods
  • Reconcile monthly invoices
  • Support Broadcast Manager on platform initiatives and media negotiations
  • Perform post-analysis of broadcast campaigns
  • Collaborate internally and present to clients
  • Keep teams informed of broadcast industry developments

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, or a closely-related field
  • 3-4 years minimum experience in a media department, current title Buyer or greater
  • Experience with broadcast media buying (national and local)
  • Experience managing multiple clients and working with multiple departmental teams
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work as a team player
  • Active listening and effective communication skills
  • Results-oriented with a commitment to accountability
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to understand principles of local radio and television negotiations
  • Experience with digital video formats such as FEP, OTT, VOD (preferred)
  • Experience with brand, DRTV, and other buying forms (a plus)
  • Proven passion and active knowledge of new and emerging media
