About the Role

The role of Officer, Planned Giving Marketing, involves collaborating with various teams to increase planned giving acquisitions, develop educational materials, and enhance stewardship efforts through multiple communication channels, including direct mail and digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the creation, development, and deployment of Planned Giving specific marketing programs with extensive direct mail and digital communications.
  • Identify and execute compelling and effective communications to achieve acquisition, educational, retention, and engagement targets, creating new pipelines.
  • Analyze and continuously improve success rates of offerings to donors via direct and digital mail.
  • Review drafts, provide feedback, and enhance current marketing plans, bringing new ideas to the program.
  • Work with the Marketing, Communications, and Fundraising team to incorporate planned giving messaging into agency-branded materials and digital communications.
  • Serve as the Planned Giving marketing point of contact for all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage vendor relationships for direct mail and online giving components.
  • Help grow the agency’s legacy society through vendor partnerships and track progress.
  • Oversee and maintain large datasets for direct mail and digital campaigns.
  • Monitor responses to donor mailings by decrypting files from vendors and reviewing online platform responses.
  • Collaborate with the Administrator, Planned Giving to track, analyze, and report donor response results and outcomes.
  • Oversee website functionality and performance, tracking analytics and ad campaigns.
  • Evaluate mailing results and measure performance over time, identifying trends and making strategic recommendations.
  • Maintain awareness of best practices and trends in fundraising and Planned Giving.
  • Act as a resource for team members and lead special projects such as mailings and emergency briefings.
  • Process incoming invoices and track expenses against budgets.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, plus at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks while ensuring quality.
  • Knowledge of best marketing practices and awareness of market competition.
  • Proactive and solutions-oriented communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional proficiency in Adobe and MS Office suite, with experience in direct and email marketing and CRM software.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English, with strong communication skills for projects, donor relations, and partnerships.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of Planned Giving and Planned Giving gift vehicles.

Qualifications

  • Formal educational background with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant experience in marketing, preferably with direct mail, digital campaigns, and CRM tools.
