Outreach Specialist

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Capture and produce digital content including videos, reels, photos, and livestreams for social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
• Follow the team into the field to document services, events, and success stories.
• Create engaging posts and campaigns that reflect current trends and connect with a digital audience.
• Represent the organization at outreach events throughout Western New York.
• Engage directly with Veterans, military families, and the community to promote awareness of services.
• Gather contact information and track outreach efforts through data collection.
• Collaborate with internal teams to develop messaging that supports programming, events, and partnerships.
• Contribute to planning and developing outreach events to increase visibility and impact.

Requirements

• A strong communicator comfortable behind the camera and in front of a crowd.
• Proven experience or passion for creating short-form digital content across multiple platforms.
• Familiarity with current social media trends, tools, and editing apps.
• Solid understanding of the Western New York community and Veteran-related resources (or willingness to learn).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and comfort with standard computer equipment.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Reliable transportation and a readiness to be on the move.
• Strong organizational skills and a self-starter mindset.
• Background check and training are required before start.
• Creativity, empathy, and enthusiasm are essential.

Nice to Have

• Experience with social media management and content creation.
• Knowledge of Veteran-related resources in Western New York.

Qualifications

• Entry level experience or passion for digital content creation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
