About the Role

The Performance Media Strategist is responsible for collecting and analyzing information regarding various media channels, creating and managing media buying recommendations and plans, and evaluating new media opportunities. The role involves collaborating with different teams to develop integrated marketing strategies, executing advertising plans within budgets, negotiating with media outlets, and optimizing media mix to achieve outlined goals. This position requires a well-rounded knowledge of digital and traditional media platforms and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collects and analyzes information regarding different media channels, such as TV, print, radio, outdoor media, disruptive media, online video, social, display, and programmatic.
  • Creates, executes, and manages buying recommendations and plans, reporting on the efforts.
  • Accountable for planning, implementing, and managing paid media campaigns.
  • Evaluates and presents new media opportunities to account services and team members.
  • Negotiates contracts and rates with all media outlets while managing relationships.
  • Creates media proposals and collaborates with teams to develop integrated marketing strategies.
  • Executes advertising and marketing plans in accordance with approved budgets and deadlines.
  • Coordinates ads for buys and communicates with account services, project management, and creative teams.
  • Traffics assets to media outlets on time.
  • Optimizes media mix as needed to reach outlined goals.
  • Reports on the effectiveness of media efforts.
  • Provides excellent customer service to internal and external partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of five years professional experience in media planning and buying, preferably at an agency.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Certifications in Google Adwords and/or Google Analytics are strongly preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism or closely related field
