About the Role

The Principal International Commercial Performance will lead and oversee the commercial performance of Alaska Air Group's international markets. Reporting to the Managing Director, Partnerships & International, this role involves shaping revenue growth and international presence strategies, influencing product and customer initiatives, and driving strategic initiatives across various teams within the airline. The position is based at Alaska Airlines' Seattle corporate headquarters and is integral to creating an airline people love by executing strategic international market efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement initiatives related to driving Air Group's international performance in a highly matrixed environment with various commercial leadership teams.
  • Develop and manage international market performance initiatives aimed at increasing sales, yield, revenue, and overall performance.
  • Report on the performance of international initiatives, providing insights and recommendations to senior management for decision-making and driving efficiency.
  • Build business-partner relationships cross-functionally to identify and meet strategic objectives and overcome challenges.
  • Act as the champion for Air Group's existing international markets by working cross-functionally with RM, network, partnerships, marketing, distribution, and other teams to ensure success.
  • Provide input and feedback on pricing strategies, schedule design, and sales channels to support international market success.
  • Guide teams on establishing competitive advantage and offering strategies that meet KPIs, driving results faster than competitors in new markets.
  • Manage annual business planning by determining and tracking key business metrics and driving operational efficiencies.
  • Understand drivers of growth in international markets and coach teams to partner with internal stakeholders to accelerate digital transformation efforts.
  • Partner and collaborate with Sales, Revenue Management, Marketing Operations, Partnerships, Distribution, and other key stakeholder groups; influence effectively across all organizational levels.

Requirements

  • 7 years of experience in network planning, partnerships, business strategy, or a related field ensuring flawless execution and operations.
  • Bachelor's degree or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
  • Ability to influence change and initiate actions with strategic impact to drive a high-performance culture.
  • Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels, providing clarity on complex concepts.
  • Demonstrated significant growth of sales in a region or business unit through cross-functional efforts.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Collaborative leadership style that motivates staff and encourages peak performance.
  • Self-motivated, personable, organized, and cooperative with team efforts and goals.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic, ever-changing market environment and work in a virtual setting.
  • Excellent written, verbal, analytical, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to think outside the box.
  • Willingness to travel at least 20% of the time to meet with customers and teams.
  • Minimum age of 18 and authorized to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 7 years experience in relevant fields.
