About the Role

The Product Marketing Director at Applied Materials Inc is responsible for overseeing specific products or product lines, monitoring market research and competitive activity, and identifying customer needs. The role involves assessing competitive advantages, recommending techniques and product enhancements to increase market penetration, and demonstrating expertise in pricing strategies to build and protect market share while enhancing profit margins. Key Responsibilities

Monitor market research, competitive activity, and identify/evaluate customer needs.
Assess competitive advantages and recommend techniques and product enhancements to increase market penetration.
Demonstrate expert understanding of pricing strategies to build and protect market share and enhance profit margins.
Develop marketing tools for successful product introductions.
Drive effective interface with engineering, manufacturing, and sales teams to develop new products and enhance existing products.
Communicate critical market needs and time requirements to relevant teams.
Lead through subordinate managers, execute segment/functional business plans, and contribute to strategy development.
Apply broad industry and commercial awareness to drive financial and operational performance.
Negotiate and influence opinions of senior executives and external organizations.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree
15+ years of work experience in product marketing or related fields.
Strong technical content creation skills, including scripts, presentations, animations, and launches.
Experience in developing and executing marketing strategies for technical products.
Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, manufacturing, and sales teams.
Demonstrated leadership and strategic thinking skills.
Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.

Nice to Have

Experience with global standards of business conduct and compliance.
Knowledge of applied materials' industry and market dynamics.
