The role involves driving messaging and go-to-market strategies for Elastic Security, working closely with product management and field teams to define outbound strategies and promote adoption in security-related use cases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Craft differentiated messaging and positioning as well as content for Elastic Security including SIEM and Security Analytics.
  • Be the expert on target personas and segments, understanding how users adopt and customers buy our products, and the value they derive from them.
  • Clearly articulate Elastic's position and differentiation versus similar security offerings, and be the expert on competitive capabilities.
  • Provide thought leadership around security market trends and competing solutions.
  • Enable the field on products and solutions through training and content.
  • Define and implement the GTM strategy for new launches and campaigns.
  • Represent the company at speaking engagements, conferences, and press interviews.
  • Measure and supervise critical metrics to track the launch and efficiency of campaigns.
  • Attend trade shows and other events to showcase products.

Requirements

  • Direct experience with security-related use cases and associated target audiences (analyst, architect, detection engineer).
  • Expertise in crafting differentiated messaging, positioning, and winning GTM strategies.
  • Experience leading product marketing at a specialized business unit, collaborating with matrixed marketing, sales, and product organizations.
  • Ability to go deep on technical capabilities to understand differentiation and positioning for practitioners and CISOs.
  • Several years of experience leading outbound initiatives addressing complex customer requirements (commercial to enterprise scale).
  • Curiosity about the “how” of technology to tell compelling stories about the “why”.
  • Relevant work experience in a technical field.
  • Proven track record of creating engaging content, including blog posts, presentations, videos, etc.
  • Strong communication skills, with experience making pitches to large and small audiences.
  • Comfort working in a cross-functional role with a highly distributed team.

Nice to Have

  • Practitioner knowledge and/or experience in SIEM, Security Analytics, XDR, or CDR.
  • Experience marketing to a mix of practitioners and business audiences.
  • Prior experience in a more technically hands-on role (analyst, sales engineer, consultant, etc.).
