About the Role

Chicago Pneumatic is seeking a Product and Applications Expert to oversee the portable air compressor portfolio. The role involves supporting the sales team and dealer partners with technical information and training, ensuring product development aligns with customer needs, and enhancing customer experience through technical expertise and market insights. The position is based in Rock Hill, SC, within the Construction Equipment North America LLC division of Atlas Copco Group, a global leader in compressors, vacuum solutions, and related equipment. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the development of multigenerational innovative product plans and roadmaps, utilizing disciplined portfolio and innovation management processes and tools.
  • Oversee all aspects of New Product Development (NPD) from ideation to product launch, ensuring project timelines and customer expectations are met.
  • Support Key/Strategic Account Managers to align products with the needs of key customer bases.
  • Design, schedule, and conduct training for Sales Managers on current and future products.
  • Report and communicate with sales teams regarding stock and lead-times for compressor products.
  • Support the field sales force with product-specific questions as the subject matter expert.
  • Visit customer sites to provide technical expertise and assist with setup and commissioning of products.
  • Attend trade shows to support the brand and sales team.
  • Determine, track, and report customer pain points, relaying feedback to production and engineering to improve products and customer experience.
  • Research industry publications, announcements, and events to identify new opportunities.
  • Own and update pricing tools such as Material Master, Customer Master, Price Lists, and Discount Structures.
  • Ensure proper branding for all customer-facing documents and update the Product Roadmap for current product ranges.
  • Assist management in preparing presentations and reports to support business decisions.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in the construction/rental industry, specifically with portable air compressor applications.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, sales, marketing, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a senior-level business environment and develop relationships with team members and customers.
  • Strong business analysis, planning, and organizing skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, SAP, and C4C.
  • Knowledge of the Portable Energy product range, with specific knowledge of portable air compressors.
  • Previous experience with portable air compressors.
  • Effective verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in team environments.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities.
  • Technical working knowledge of Chicago Pneumatic portable compressors.
  • Field experience in heavy equipment rentals with application knowledge and real-world experience.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% domestically and internationally.

Nice to Have

  • Experience operating in a senior-level business environment.
  • Previous field experience working with heavy equipment rentals.
  • Knowledge of industry publications, announcements, and events related to portable energy products.

Qualifications
